The photo above was taken on the shore of the Sea of Galilee. It was at this body of water that Jesus called to Peter and Andrew to follow him. And Jesus and Peter walked on the water here. After the resurrection of Jesus, it was also on this shore early one morning that he called to the disciples after a night of fishing with no results, that he provided them a load of fish so heavy that they were unable to haul it in. And after a breakfast of fish with Jesus, Peter heard clearly the restoring call that the Savior gave to him. That’s why on my trip to Israel in 2016, upon arrival at the Sea of Galilee after dark, I could hardly wait for morning to come! I was going to have a fish breakfast with my Lord out on the shore of the Sea of Galilee! But after tasting the Egyptian fish, at dinner, I had decided that Jesus would probably like it just fine if I had a chocolate croissant with him. As I slept in the pre-dawn darkness, a full moon peaking through the curtains and called me awake. I ran outside to see it, snapped a couple of pictures, then got dressed for my breakfast appointment on the shore. It was there, captivated by this moment when history and my life intersected that I took this picture. It reminds me of of God’s call to man, and man’s call back to our Creator, Father, Savior, and Restorer. We have a divine appointment with the Father that burns in our hearts, calls to us, and it must be kept! The Intercessor’s Call.
